In addition to supporting orphans, Naseer Welfare Foundation is dedicated
to assisting widows who have faced the effects of Afghanistan's 40 years of
war. The humanitarian crisis, intensified by the prolonged conflict, has left
more than half of the country's population in need of assistance. Over the last
two decades, at least 176000 people have lost their lives, contributing to a
staggering number of over 2 million orphans and children, alongside a
significant population of widows.
·
To address the challenges faced by widow women, we have implemented the
Nakhla program, providing them with monthly cash donations in Paktia, Khost and
Paktika provinces for financial support.
·
Recently, we donated chickens project to empower and support 103 widows
in Logar and Paktia provinces, aiming to enhance their self-sufficiency.
·
Looking ahead, we have an impactful project designed for women,
especially widows. This initiative involves a sewing and tailoring course for
100 women, covering six months. Upon completing the course, Naseer Welfare
Foundation will equip them with a sewing machine, tailoring table, and related
accessories, empowering them to enter the market, engage in tailoring
activities, and receive payment. This newfound capability will enable them to
purchase essential household items and achieve a degree of financial
independence.
